Terms of Use
Effective October 25, 2026
The short version: the app gives suggestions, not guarantees. You're the driver. You decide where it's legal and safe to park and what to do on your layover.
Check the signs, watch your hours, never drink and drive, and don't use the app while driving.
These terms cover the Get Me Out of This Truck iPhone app and the website at truck.spokanistansaga.com (together, "the app"), made and run by the Get Me Out of This Truck team ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What the app does
The app saves where you parked, suggests nearby places where a truck might be able to stage or park, and suggests things to do near a location you choose. Suggestions come from automated searches of third-party map data (Google Maps Platform) and from AI-generated text (OpenAI).
2. Suggestions, not guarantees
- Suggestions can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. Businesses close, hours change, and AI can make mistakes. We check places against map data, but we can't promise that a place is open, exists, is safe, or is a good idea.
- Distances and times are rough estimates in a straight line. They don't account for traffic, truck routes, bridges, tolls, or road restrictions.
3. Parking and staging: you're responsible
- A staging suggestion is not permission to park. The app doesn't know a lot's rules, size, or whether trucks are welcome.
- Before parking, you are responsible for checking and obeying posted signs, private-property rules, oversized and commercial vehicle restrictions, overnight rules, local laws, and your company's policies.
- Paid truck parking is arranged directly between you and the lot operator or booking service, under their terms. We aren't part of that arrangement and aren't responsible for it.
4. Driving, hours, and alcohol
- Don't use the app while driving. Set things up before you roll or after you're parked.
- You are responsible for complying with hours-of-service rules and all other laws and regulations that apply to you.
- Some suggestions involve alcohol. Never drink and drive, and follow all federal and company alcohol rules for drivers. For example, FMCSA rules prohibit using alcohol within 4 hours before going on duty.
- Use your own judgment about your safety, your health, and the areas you visit.
5. Acceptable use
Use the app for its intended purpose. Don't misuse it: no automated scraping, overloading or attacking the service, reverse engineering it, or using it to break the law. We may limit or block access that we believe abuses the service.
6. Third-party services
The app relies on and links to services we don't control, including Google Maps, Apple Maps, OpenAI, Cloudflare, and parking operators and booking services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.
7. The app itself
The app, its name, logo, and design belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-commercial right to use the app as provided. We may change, pause, or stop any part of the app at any time, without notice. The app is currently free.
8. No warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, fine, ticket, tow, or damage arising from your use of the app or from acting on its suggestions. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to $50.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Apple
If you got the app from Apple's App Store or TestFlight, Apple's standard terms for apps also apply. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support.
